In the past five years, India has seen an array of movements aiming to educate women about menstrual hygiene and sanitation. The taboo associated with the menstruation outnumbers the women who have go through this process every month, from not touching the pickle, not stepping in the temple ,to not entering in the kitchen area.India has menstruation taboos and beliefs which have almost crippled its women with chronic reproductive  infections.
The taboos are not only limited to rural but even urban areas. Therefore ,the need to talk, discussion, and educate in favor of menstruation hygiene practice is extremely necessary at a time.Millions of women  in India fall prey to low standards of sanitation and menstrual hygiene.
VIKALP FOUNDATION TRUST initiates distribution of free sanitary napkins, workshops on women sanatization ,run seminars and classes on menstruation hygiene for both girls and boys and define menstruation taboos through involving middle aged men and women in menstruation hygiene drive.
As much as 82% women of India do not know ,what a sanitary napkin is or what it is used for-an alarming statics but an even for though her number to counter, being able to tackle this issue with chip,eco- friendly sanitary napkins still a distant dream .
Atypical large pad in the market place is is anywhere between rupees 8-10, and anion sanitary pad is 100-250 per pad, which is extremely costly but VIKALP FOUNDATION TRUST provide high grade anion sanitary napkin on door step with the help of volunteers on local GRAM PANCHAAYAT LEVEL or BLOCK LEVEL only in 300/- Rs for one year pack of 48 piece of anion sanitary napkins with more absorbent ( about 200 ml of water ), means which pad is generally 100-250 Rs per pad is available in 6 rupees and equal to three pad of market,as social awareness service.
Data state that a single women can generate up to 125 Kg of non-biodegradable waste during her menstrual years. This mean the use of sanitary napkins ,tampons or even the newly introduced menstrual cups.Further, studies suggest that one sanitary napkin can take at least 500 to 800 years to decompose due to plastic content unit.Plastic is highly non biodegradable and can hence lead to health and environment hazards.Bio degradable material for sanitary napkin is extremely  costly in market today to make chip pads with them in is almost impossible. VIKALP FOUNDATION TRUST tried to reduce cost of napkin and provide world class sanitary napkin with a new technology of anion chip ,which give energy and maintain hygiene using with Jelly model absorbent inside with various layers or ultra thin permeable membrane.
